What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and collar. The round crewneck is bound with a compact rib that sits flat against the collarbone. It gives a clean finish that holds its circular shape over repeated wear, pulling on easily without stretching out of line.
  • Roomy body cut. We shaped this body wide and straight, giving you clear ease through the chest and waist. The fabric falls straight down to a lower hem that lands past the hips, resting loose over denim or a knit skirt.
  • Chest pocket detail. A single open pocket is knit directly onto the chest in matching stripe alignment. It sits flat against the body fabric without adding bulk, echoing the horizontal colorwork across the front panel.
  • Washing and shape. Hand wash this knit in cool water or have it dry cleaned to preserve the dark dye work. Press out excess water between towels, then dry it flat on a rack so the wet cotton yarn keeps its structure.

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
