What we would tell you in the studio

  • Folded roll neck. We knit the high neck with enough height to fold down once or leave softly stacked against the throat. The fine rib keeps its shape without pinching, sitting close enough to block drafts while leaving space underneath for a thin base layer.
  • Low dropped shoulders. The sleeve joins sit low on the arm, creating a wide chest and an easy fall through the upper body. Ribbed cuffs gather the long sleeves slightly at the wrist, keeping the volume tidy when pushed up or worn straight.
  • Vented high-low hem. The back hem drops slightly lower than the front for extra coverage behind you. We added open side slits at each hip so the heavy gauge fabric does not bunch or pull across your lap when you sit.
  • Gentle cold care. Wash this blend by hand or on a delicate cycle using cold water and mild detergent. Reshape the garment while damp and dry it flat on a towel away from direct heat to protect the yarn structure and avoid stretching.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
