Womens Oversized Roll Neck Sweaters
We knit this pullover with generous ease through the body so it hangs away from you rather than clinging. The collar stands high around the throat, folding over cleanly or standing soft. Below, the hem reaches down past the hip line with stepped side vents to keep the long profile moving freely.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Double fold collar. The high neck is ribbed to hold its upright shape without pinching the throat. You can turn it over once into a neat roll or leave it soft and scrunched against cold air.
- Dropped shoulder line. We set the armholes low to create a relaxed sleeve that falls wide from the shoulder and tapers down toward the ribbed wrist. It gives your arms room to move without pulling at the collar.
- Vented lower hem. Side slits break the hemline so the long body panels drape straight down rather than bunching when you sit. The back panel drops slightly lower than the front for full rear coverage.
- Cold water care. Wash by hand or use a gentle machine cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Lay the damp knit flat on a towel to dry so the heavy length does not stretch out on a hanger.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
