Womens Oversized Roll Neck Sweaters
We knit this sweater with a generous cut that hangs clear of the waist. The yarn blend yields a smooth, dense surface with natural give across the chest. Down below, the lower hem steps down slightly in the back and vents open at the sides to let the extra length move freely.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Rolled collar structure. The double-layer neck stands tall without pinching the throat. You can fold it down once or let it scrunch loosely against the collarbone, depending on how much fabric you prefer around the chin.
- Dropped sleeve line. The armhole sits low on the bicep rather than on the shoulder joint. This gives the sleeve a wide upper opening before tapering gradually into a ribbed cuff that holds steady at the wrist.
- Split hemline. The lower edge lands long over trousers or skirts. We added side slits directly into the side seams so the front and back panels do not bunch when you sit down or take long strides.
- Cold wash care. Hand wash in cold water or run a gentle machine cycle with mild soap. Press out excess water between clean towels and dry the sweater flat on a rack so the wet weight does not stretch the knit.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
