What we would tell you in the studio

  • Exposed seam details. We brought the panel joins to the outside of the knit instead of hiding them inside. These raised lines break up the solid orange body and give the front and sleeves clear visual structure.
  • Roomy tunic cut. The body is knitted wide and drops straight down toward the hem. Deep splits at both side seams let the lower edge part naturally when you sit or walk, keeping the fabric loose around the hips.
  • Crew neckline and cuffs. A simple round crew neck sits flat against the collarbone without pulling tight. At the wrists, vertical grain ribbing narrows slightly from the wider sleeve to keep cold air out and hold the cuff in place.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash this sweater in cold water or run it through a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Skip the bleach and lay the knit flat on a towel to dry so the seams and shape do not stretch out.

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.

  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
