Oversized Sweaters for Women
We knit this pullover with a generous cut that hangs straight and away from the body. The classic crewneck sits flat against the collarbone, balanced by long sleeves with ribbed cuffs. Outside seam lines trace the construction down the torso, meeting a lower hem broken by side slits.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Exposed seam lines. We brought the join work to the outside of the sweater. These raised seams run down the knit body, creating visible structure across the front and sleeves while keeping the inner face smooth against your skin.
- Roomy tunic length. The hem lands low on the frame with open side splits that let the fabric move freely over trousers or knit leggings. It hangs straight down rather than gathering in at the bottom.
- Cuff and neck ribbing. Fine vertical ribbing trims the round crew neckline and extends across the long cuffs. The sleeve rib holds close to the wrist so the extra fabric gathers naturally along the lower arm.
- Cold wash care. Hand wash in cold water or run on a gentle machine cycle with mild detergent. Reshape the sweater while damp and dry it flat on a towel so the heavier knit does not stretch out.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
