What we would tell you in the studio

  • Exposed seam lines. We brought the seam construction to the outside of the knit to add clear textural lines along the shoulders and body. It gives the soft knit surface an intentional, structural break.
  • Crewneck and cuffs. The neckline is a simple round band that keeps its shape without pulling tight. Long sleeves finish in vertical grain ribbed cuffs that hold the wrist when pushed up.
  • Split tunic hem. The lower edge drops past the hips toward the upper leg, vented with open side splits. This open hem lets the knit move freely over trousers, denim, or leggings without catching.
  • Care and washing. Hand wash cold or run on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, reshape the damp knit by hand, and dry flat rather than hanging to preserve the shoulder seams.

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
